Tribomechadynamics Research Camp

[Returning in 2022] After having run six successful research institutes, the second generation of these efforts will be the Tribomechadynamics Research Camp. This program will alternate between Rice University (in 2017, 2019, and tentatively 2023), Imperial College London (in 2018, and tentatively 2024), and the University of Stuttgart (in 2022). The main thrust of the program will be a month-long research experience in which students work in teams of four on a research problem at the forefront of the research in Tribomechadynamics. Prior to the month long research experience, a two week long training period will be held for students new to research in this area. It is anticipated that there will be 16 slots available for graduate students to participate each year. The 2020 and 2021 editions were postponed due to the pandemic. Instead, a challenge to the greater community on predictive modeling is being announced at IMAC 2021. The next research camp will be hosted at the University of Stuttgart in 2022. Details about the Tribomechadynamics Research Camp, including project listings can be found at tmd.rice.edu.
